[...] I love my hot tea and I'm always willing to try anything tea and coffee related. I've never tried an electric tea kettle. I've always used the ones that you heat up on the stove. The kettle is very attractive looking and easy to use, but it does have plastic parts (handle, base, lid). You fill it with water (it will hold 3 liters and there is a minimum amount required). Then set it on the base, plug it in, flip it on, and wait. It took about 4 minutes to boil enough water for 3 cups of tea, which is faster than using the stove, but my stove kettle is all stainless with no plastic. One thing that I like about it is that it automatically shuts off when it starts to boil. This is a great safety feature however I see that other reviewers have stated that their didn't shut off so I'm wondering if they have since improved the product or if I just got lucky with mine. The one thing that I didn't like was that I miss the whistle of stovetop kettles. If I'm not in the kitchen when the water is boiling the whistle always let me know when it was ready, but since the electric kettle is so fast I just hang out in the kitchen until it is hot. The inside of the handle was also a little warm, but not super hot. The plastic really doesn't bother me much but other customers may find it cheap looking. If I were in the market for a real high quality one that would last a really long time with regular use, then I would probably expect to pay more than $22 for it. Other than those things, I really like the kettle and look forward to having it this winter when my hot tea intake goes way up. *I was able to try this product in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.
