I had so much trepidation buying a mattress online! This one was at a price that wouldn't kill me if I didn't like it and I liked that it was supposed to be medium soft. Unpacking I received the mattress faster than expected and dragged the box in the house. It was not as easy as I had hoped to get unrolled, but I managed. It was folded and rolled, but when I unrolled it, it was upside down and I had to flip it. This would be easy with 2 people and honestly it wasn't too much struggle, but enough to mention it. After I had it the correct way on the bedframe I cut off the plastic and before I could get the plastic off it was already a couple inches high. The fluffing up I was amazed at how fast this mattress plumped up! Within a half hour it was at 7 inches. After 3 hours it was at 8 inches. By the 24 hour mark it was at the full nine inches. The entire mattress was even, no high or low spots. The smell There was a bit of a chemical smell when I unwrapped it, but it wasn't super strong. I have pets and do not allow them in the bedroom so I was not able to air it out very much. It basically sat in a closed room with no windows or doors opened. Under those conditions, it took about a week for the smell to completely disappear. It was strongest the first 2 days, but again, not overwhelming. This is coming from a woman who can't deal with smells very well. I can literally smell someones shampoo when the walk by me! It you are able to air out your room then I think any smell would be gone quickly. Comfort The mattress was not as soft as I had hoped, but it is softer than a lot I have tried! It feels comfortable and supportive. My shoulders and back are not as stiff as they have been for years and I no longer wake up in the night with numb hands. My lower back has been really tight and painful for years and it is getting better every day from changing to this mattress. Temperature This actually does keep you at a good temperature when you are sleeping. Before I got this I had a memory foam topper with cooling gel and I would wake up on occasion sweating my *#% off! I have not woken up sweating once since getting this mattress!! It is of course subject to room temp and doesn't actively cool you down, but it definitely does not heat me up either. Overall I am completely happy with this purchase and would recommend this mattress. What you get for your money is awesome. Please remember that everything is subjective and you may not have the same experience as I do.
