I use volume adding irons to my hair pretty much every time i wash and style my hair. I naturally have medium/thin pin straight hair. I have purchased a much cheaper micro crimper from hot tools and used it for a few months. Recently, I bought voloom and have used it once. The results are attached. Most people would probably ask, which I preferred? They both have their pros and cons. -Mico crimpers can get closer to your scalp, but leave a really severe mark on your hair. Voloom cannot get as close to your scalp and leaves a more subtle mark. -Voloom is much faster to use. Micro crimpers take me 20 minutes to crimp my whole head (except for the visible areas near my part of course). Voloom takes 10 minutes. The differences are really nuanced. So if you can't afford voloom you would probably be satisfied enough with a cheaper micro crimper. I plan on keeping both irons anyway because I really liked the results and think it works really well on long hair with larger barrell curled styles. Feel free to ask any questions.
