Slept in this hammock for several months after having an exceptionally comfortable Tempurpedic, queen-sized bed. I had never slept in nor even laid in a 'real' hammock before purchasing this, and I was incredibly skeptical. After a week or two of trying the hammock, however, I was hooked: I had some of the best sleep I'd ever had, fell asleep almost immediately after getting in (usually it takes me a while to fall asleep, but the hammock just lulls you), and my back pain was greatly reduced. As I got more comfortable, I realized that I could sleep in any crazy position I wanted--and, unlike in beds, I wouldn't have to wake up in pain from putting too much pressure on my shoulder/elbows/legs. I could sleep in pseudo stretches with my legs askance and my arm directly under my body and feel absolutely no pressure. Dreamy. And unlike in beds, once I found my 'position' I tended to stay in that position all night and stay asleep. I had to leave this hammock behind, sadly, when moving across the country--but even with a new bed, I'll probably re-purchase this hammock. Downsides: Space (took up a surprisingly large amount with the stand, and many rooms aren't built for the dimensions of a hammock). Platonic friend sleepovers (you have to cuddle. you can't sleep on opposite sides like you can on a queen bed). Being the only 'bed' when you live with your SO (cuddling could be great, but I doubt you could get into/out of a hammock without waking the other person up). Desk (beds aren't supposed to be desks, I guess. But here I am, typing on my laptop in my bed. And when I'm done, let's be honest, my laptop is staying in bed with me, along with a book, notebook, ...). Can't help you fold/organize your laundry. Secret Perks: Space heater, under/directed at the hammock on a cool night. This is heaven. Cats - cuddling together in the hammock, obviously, but you also get to watch the amusing evolution of your cat's relationship with the hammock. Stretching - you're going to have to try this to truly get it. but trust me, it makes things easier and eliminates all pressure/strain. Warning: Once you spend a week or two in this hammock, you will grow to hate all non-hammock beds and spend the night wistfully thinking of your hammock days.
