Wow, there is a LOT of information in this book. I really think that there is something for everyone in this guide. It is well written, well laid out, and easy to find what you are looking for. I have used it to plan my herb garden. There is an index of herbs that is absolutely amazing in the detailed information and the amount of herbs it covers. I am looking forward to using some of my home grown herbs for everything from beauty (which there are a lot of recipes) to health for my whole family. I am new to this whole world of herbal remedies, but Rosemary Gladstar's book is definitely an easy way to get started. The recipes are easy to follow. Yes, there are some herbs I can't grow, but there are also many recipe alternatives that I can. I am really happy with this purchase, and it makes a great addition to my library. I actually took this book in to work today for a few of my co-workers to thumb thru. Already two people have decided to order their own copy. I think that is a good indicator.
