I am loving this product after only 2 applications. I'm downright giddy to have found a natural self tanner with organic ingredients that actually works and doesn't stink! I did my first application in the afternoon. Then I did the second application at night before bed. Here are my tips and pointers from my own experience and trial and error. I exfoliated with a body scrub prior to my initial use. My body scrub has an oil in it, which I believe helped in getting a really even application without any streaking at all. What really amazed me was that there was no unpleasant odor. It had a nice scent after the first application. I just used my hands (no gloves) and applied all over, letting it dry first before getting dressed. Be sure to wash your hands really well after the application. I think it helps to take a washcloth and rub in between your fingers. I also took a dry towel and rubbed down my feet, ankles, knees, elbows, forearms and wrists. Within a few hours, my skin had a really nice glow. I did not use it on my face for the first application. With the second application, I suggest applying some lotion to the typical problem areas like the feet, ankles, knees, elbows and hands. This will allow for the most even coloring. I did not do this before my second application and had a couple of small areas that were uneven. That's when it dawned on me that the oil in my body scrub was the key to such a beautiful first layer. I did use the product on my face for the second application. It looks great. You are basically going to get a nice warm glow from one application. Then it can be layered to go darker, if that's what you like. I'm happy with the one layer on my face and two layers on my body. I will update after a week to let you know how it lasted and how long I waited before reapplying. There is more of a scent after my second application. That is because I put it on my face. It's not unpleasant at all like so many self tanners I have used in the past. I am very brand loyal when I find a product that I love. This product is going on my must have list. The same company has an exfoliating glove and one to use when applying the tanner also, I haven't tried it yet. I think it is a definite help in exfoliating and applying the product. I love that I don't have to worry so much about not getting it all off of my hands and in between fingers. And with the mitt, I can apply a light coat to the top of my hands. Head over to the exfoliate and mitt product and read my review there. I've also applied the tanning lotion about every 5-6 days since my initial applications. Overall it is wearing very well. There are a few kind of speckly placed on the insides of my arms. I believe these have more to do with my application than anything. I will definitely be a repeat customer with this lotion. Save your skin and don't bake in the sun. Just look like you did with this product! I'm trying to go all natural with my beauty products and cleaning products, etc. I love that this product does not have harsh chemicals and is loaded with organic ingredients. This product is Made In The USA. Looking at the company's other products on Amazon, I am very impressed. I will definitely try some of the others they are offering.
