I wanted to use this for at least a month before giving an accurate review. My 2 year old daughter has Failure to Thrive, GERD, and Dysphagia brought on by use of a medication(Topomax) to control her epilepsy. She had dropped down to only wanting 2 meals per day and 15.5 lbs at 18 months old. After having the doctor switch her meds(Keppra), putting her on Pediasure 1.5, and creating a super fat diet puree for her, she began picking up an appetite and weight also, but very slowly. By the end of April, she was still only at 18 lbs 15 oz and only eating 3-4 meals per day. I bought 1 box of Benecalorie and began adding it to her milk mixture(4 oz whole milk, 4 oz Pediasure 1.5, adding in 1.5 packet of Benecalorie spread out over 4 - 8oz bottles per day). At first, she was throwing up a lot because of the oil content in the Benecalorie along with the fact that I was only feeding her Pediasure, which is already thick. I read someone else's review telling people to pour off the oil in the packet. DO NOT POUR OFF THE OIL! IT IS PART OF THE INGREDIENTS THAT ADD THE NECESSARY CALORIES(if you were supposed to pour something off, there would be instructions to do so). I figured out that I was adding too much Benecalorie to her milk at first. So I thinned her milk mixture by adding half whole milk to each bottle plus a probiotic digestive enzyme to her food(I open the cap and sprinkle on top of her first mouthful of food). I guess I found the magic mixture because she has gained 1 lb 1 oz by the end of May and she's getting heavier by the day. Her appetite is also WAY up! She is now eating 5-6 times per day, consuming about 5-6 oz of milk mix each time. If you think the oil content is too much, split the packets throughout the day or mix into a pudding/puree. I've ordered 2 more boxes. This is just what I needed to get her to her target weight of 24 lbs over the next few months. I can already see that she is much more active and alert.
