I almost did not purchase this item because it cost more than the other (more popular) comparable offerings from Bostich and Porter Cable. In retrospect I am glad I did. It is relatively quiet, and works just as I had hoped it would. I am a Dewalt fan and have many of their 20 and 12 volt battery tools which all have worked great for me. One thing of interest I can add. I read on several reviews of other pancake compressors that a break in procedure of running the motor with the drain open for 15 minutes was crucial for continued long term use. However after going through the instructions carefully, I did not see this requirement. I called Dewalt and was told that this was true for their older models but was not needed for this model. He said just start using it as you need to right out of the box. He said it would not hurt it to do the break in procedure, but it was definitely not necessary.
