I'll be honest... this is not to teach our teen to be a better driver. This is to "trust but verify" what he tells us. This unit was so amazingly simple to install (in secret, of course), and is tucked nicely under the dashboard so it can't be seen. This may just be the design of the car we tagged, and we're sure the location of the port is different in different cars. As a junior license holder, our teen can't drive between 9 pm and 5 am, and we long suspected he wasn't telling us everything when he stayed at a friend's house overnight. Within 24 hours of installing this unit, we knew the truth. We also saw that he drove at 83 (!!!) MPH on the 65-MPH highway. And that he uses the brakes badly. This unit works better than our wildest dreams.
