I was preparing to place an order for this product when I decided to check the ingredients. At the top of the list after purified water is sodium bicarbonate. Really? Baking soda? I decided to do an experiment and added 1/8 teaspoon of baking soda to 8 cups of filtered water from my water filter tap, then checked the pH with diagnostic pH test strips previously purchased through Amazon. The result was an astounding 8.0 pH and I couldn't taste the baking soda at that level. I'm sure Essentia Water is a good product and gave it 4 stars, but why pay all that money? Buy some pH test strips and see for yourself. Results may vary depending on your water, and you can slightly increase the amount of baking soda if you want a higher pH, but too much alkaline is just as bad as too much acid. BTW, coffee is highly acidic. Try diluting the acid in your body by drinking 8 oz. of water with added baking soda before drinking coffee.
