Out the box pretty straight forward, add water plug and turn on. I'm having a great experience with it so far, Evapolar does a great job at keeping my desk space cool. It also looks very clean with my set up. My room would always be hot and dry, but with Evapolar I can finally breath comfortably and stay cooled. I will say its somewhat noisy at max speed but it doesn't really bother me, water lasts from 7-9 hours. Also don't expect the preformence of an air conditioner. I really recommend this if you spend most of your time working behind a screen.
