So far so good. This unit is silent and it puts out quite a bit of cool mist. I suffer from some pretty bad nose bleeds once the heat is turned on. Last week was bad but after getting this, my nose is no longer dry and no nose bleeds. I keep it going 24/7 in the winter! If you want a good Humidifier for one room, this is the one! UPDATE: I pour a cup of vinegar in the tank and then fill with water and let it soak for a couple of hours, then rise well to clean it once a month. I also use a capful of Holmes Humidifier Bacteriostat in the tank each time I refill it.
