A quick, easy turn to
For those wondering if there's a difference between the Miracle-Gro houseplant fertilizer mini-spikes and the Jobe's, there is: MG = 6% nitrogen and 12% phosphate Jobe's = 13% nitrogen and 4% phosphate Both contain the same 5 to 6% potash. I keep one container of each brand, since some plants do have high nitrogen needs, while others do not. Too much nitrogen and plants can burn, too little and leaves turn yellow with weak stems. All plants also need phosphate to make roots deep and strong. The just right Goldilocks fertilization/environment will keep a plant healthy, green and lush. Push in the fertilizer spikes at the edge of the pot and NOT in the center of the plant, as that'll do more harm than good. Wherever I've lived over the years since college, my home has always been filled with a wide variety of houseplants. Once you get the right spot, with the right watering schedule and sunlight, most plants rocks along just fine and only require some occasional feeding. Still, I'm enormously lazy about mixing fertilizer crystal solution with water. So, over the years I've turned to these. They do the trick just as well as the messy water soluble solutions.
