I dithered for weeks over purchasing this pan after reading some of the negative reviews here and the fact that no matter how you look at it, $14.99 is a considerable sum for an 8" X 8" pan. But I wanted a metal pan to replace the 20-year-old Pyrex pan that shattered earlier this year when I inadvertently brought it into contact with cold water after removing it from a 400f oven. Because a fair number of the negative reviews for this pan cited leakage, the first thing I did after unboxing it was to fill it with water and it passed with flying colors. For its first use, I made cornbread (400f for 25 mins.) The result was picture perfect. The pan performed perfectly without warping and, true to its non-stick silicone coating, cleaned up easily with warm soapy water and a sponge. The pan itself is quite heavy (slightly more than 1.5 lbs), ensuring even baking and barring any damage to the coatings, this pan looks like it will be a favorite for quite some time.
