Commute saver!
I've had this bike for 2 weeks and it is awesome. It did exactly what I had expected it to. It came fully charged and took around 30 minutes to assemble (seat, unfolding the bike, etc. simple stuff). My complaints would be that the front fender was scratched, the front brake squeaked a bit when I use it and the gears were tight so I couldn't switch it to 1 for my first ride (it could only go as low as 3). Although it is foldable, it's quite heavy. I rarely fold it but it is a nice feature to have in case someone wants to give you a ride in their car. ;) So for that, I can't give it 5 stars. I am 5'4" and around 115-120lbs. The bike travels on average 16mph on flat roads and reaching up to 20 mph on steep slopes downhill. The charging time I would say takes about 6 times however long you rode it for. For example, since I rode my bike for 12 mins. to work for 2.3 miles, it took me about an hour to charge it to full. There was a time I was on my bike for around 10.4 miles and it took almost 5 hours to charge to full. I haven't really calculated how many miles I could push on this bike but it was able to run at least 10 miles without pedaling for me. I might update on this later. I added a milk crate to the luggage rack and strapped it down with 2 bungie cords. It works perfect for grocery shopping! I highly recommend this bike to anyone who would like to use it for commute, grocery shopping and exploration of places within 5-6 miles of where you...can get your bike charged. :) UPDATE: The gears have been working fine after the first couple rides and the front brakes don't squeak anymore! The maximum range I had tested on this bike is 14.4 miles almost completely by throttle except for when I had to go over a bridge (less than 1 min. uphill). So I'm guessing it would max out at around 15 miles for me. UPDATE: 1 month after purchase - Flat back tire. Probably from something sharp on the road (could have been from the construction at the building where I work at). Got it replaced in 2-3 hours. I spent $43.06 (tire, inner tubing and labor...I believe it was a bit more expensive since they had to carefully detach the wiring in order to get to the tire). 7 months after purchase - Bike is working great still! I use it at least every weekday to commute to work. Only slight maintenance every few weeks, keeping the tires pumped. I'm really glad I bought this bike! Saves me from getting sweaty biking as the weather starts warming up here. 23 months after purchase - I haven't had a chance to ride the bike after I got a car but I recently moved closer to school/work, so I decided that might save some parking fee/gas for the commute. This little thing still runs strong! No problems at all and still held charge! The tires were a bit flat but what bike wouldn't be after being stored for so long. Just in case the battery wasn't full, I did charge it up before I took my bike out for a ride. The tires were also pumped and they ran just fine. Totally worth the price I paid for 2 years ago!! I didn't bother taking pictures the first time writing this review but it seems to have helped quite a few people. So the pictures you see here are from today (9/17/2015). Still looking quite new. :) 2 years & 11 months after purchase - I've kept my electric bike in storage for a while after my last update. I turned it on and the battery displayed that it was still full. Wow! I'm sure it wasn't completely full but it still held its charge well. I decided to plug it in anyhow overnight and had the tires pumped since they do lose air pressure over time. I took it to SF for a short commute. On steep hills, it was more of a pedal assist but it ran very smoothly and quickly on flat roads. I haven't seen much of a difference except a little bit of cosmetic rusting. The ride overall didn't seem any different.
