This straightener is awesome! It heats up fast, is easy to use, and works! I went on the epic journey to find the perfect flat iron to replace my croc that had died. The croc was an ok straightener, but thought hair technology has advanced and I could find a better one that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. And here it is! I have medium-thick hair that is mostly straight with some frizzy short hairs. It does a great job of flattening the frizzy hairs, and curling the straight hairs. I was careful to not turn the temperature too high (for fear of burning my hair) but found that it's faster to hit the 450 degree button rather than adjust it everytime. Plus, 450 doesn't burn my hair up. I think my favorite part is that the display lights up green when it's at the set temperature! The display isn't easy to see since its inside the flat iron, so it's a fast and easy way to know that it's ready to go! I mostly use this to curl/wave my hair. It's awesome! The sides are rounded so it helps to shaped the waves. And the curls stay through the next day! Just use a little dry shampoo on the greasy hairs and it looks great! Not to mention how easy it is to store and travel with! It comes with a bag so you can toss it in your luggage if you're traveling and it hasn't cooled down all the way. It also has a Velcro strip attached to the cord which makes tidying up the cord really fast. Some helpful hints for when you buy this: I noticed it leaves a crease in my hair that my previous straightener didn't. I fix this by going over my hair with the flat iron where the crease might be, THEN curl or straighten the hair. It also seems to lose heat fairly quick. When I use it, I notice that the display will turn back to blue (it's heating up) after using it on a few pieces of hair. Though this isn't a big deal because it heats up fast if you set it down for a second, and my old one probably cooled off as well but didn't have a display that showed it like this one does. Overall, a great straightener for the $$!
