Bests & Worsts Reviews from Amazon

I could not rave about this rug more! After reading A TON of the reviews on Amazon, I bought the 8 x10 taupe California Shag rug & it is exactly what I was looking for at a fraction of the price of the other brands & sites! I was hesitant to buy a rug online. Without seeing it or touching it!? My husband thought I was crazy. So I decided to order of the swatches for peace of mind & well... they're free! They weren't just teensy little squares. It was about an 8" square. I laid them all out on the floor & that's when I was so thankful for having ordered the swatches first. From the reviews, everyone raves about the beige & ivory. But to me the taupe was by far more beautiful! The beige does in fact have a blend of about 3 colors & that didn't work for me. The ivory looked like it would get really dirty really fast. But don't take my word for it, just order a swatch & see what works for you. IT'S FREE! Ordered the rug. It came in about 10 days & we could not be happier with it. It did have a faint "chemically" smell to it. I have a VERY sensitive nose & I still say faint. But listen, if you're buying an inexpensive rug it's typically going to have flame retardants & other chemicals on it. It's gonna smell a little. The smell wears off quickly. Usually. If you don't want those chemicals you'll need to buy a more expensive rug. For the price, it's a winner & it looks like we paid a whole lot more for it than we did! I bought a similar rug at Pier 1 at a much heftier cost. This Safavieh rug looks way more expensive & much better quality. My advice, make sure you order it from Amazon. Not a third party seller. I feel like that's where a lot of the bad reviews are coming from as they make you pay for shipping if you need to return. Amazon will typically pay for the return shipping if the rug is defective, but they must be the seller. Hope this helps.
