Removes intestinal parasites that you didn't know were there.
Let me preface this by saying I am not the type of person who rejects modern medicine, and I'm not a hypochondriac or obsessed with supplements and such. I have never done a "cleanse" in my life because I think they're usually dumb and unnecessary. However, after using diatomaceous earth and seeing what came out of my body, I'm a believer in this remedy. I had a suspicion that I might have intestinal parasites based on some pretty vague symptoms, and something I saw in my stool (1/2 inch white thread-looking thing). I felt fine in general and didn't think it warranted a doctor's visit and stool sample because I thought it might be in my head anyway. After reading about this stuff, I decided to try food grade DE and just see if anything happened. I'm on Day Four of taking DE, and I can say with certainty I've had some parasites for who knows how long. I have been taking way less than most people because I was worried about the dehydration some people have reported. I've been taking 1 teaspoon a day, with LOTS OF WATER. Otherwise, I haven't changed my diet or lifestyle or anything. Besides a little bit of gurgling from my gut on the first day, I haven't had any nausea or diarrhea or any side effects at all. Today is Day Four and I found dozens of dead white worms in my stool. I didn't investigate too closely because I was pretty freaked out by it, but they were anywhere from 1/2 inch to over 2 inches. I believe they were pinworms and roundworms. This was NOT mucous, it was NOT leftover fibers from anything I'd eaten. They were opaque white worms several millimeters in diameter. They were all aligned the same way in the stool. Aside from the psychological torment of realizing I have had intestinal parasites for an indefinite period of time, I feel completely fine. My plan is to continue taking this for at least a week, maybe longer if there are still this many things coming out every day. But I do not want to stay on it permanently because I imagine it's hard on the intestinal walls. I'll update this review later. In terms of the product itself, it is easy to take. It is tasteless and slightly gritty (I mean, it's like eating very fine quartz sand... this is just extra pointy silica). I mix one teaspoon into a glass of water and chug it down, then rinse my mouth thoroughly and drink a glass of plain water. I make sure to drink extra water throughout the day. For the curious, my symptoms were foul-smelling gas and mild rectal itching, especially at night. Other symptoms that could be related to parasites include fatigue/brain fog (check, but that could be caused by so many things), frequent skin rashes (check, but I've had sensitive skin forever), and dark circles under eyes (check, but maybe because I don't sleep enough). When I update this review I'll let you know if anything has changed, but these are vague symptoms that could be caused by so many things. Anyway, I'll report back after I'm done taking it. I am starting to think that intestinal parasites are waaaaay more common than we first-worlders like to believe! Considering I had THAT MANY WORMS in my body with symptoms so mild I could explain them away a million different ways... I think a lot of us might have critters in our systems. Get them out!!!
