I have had Squirrel proof feeders in the past but this one makes him so mad. I fill the feeders once a week and this is the first time that the seed last for days. Top: My last feeder had a tight fitting top. He would pop it off and eat till content. This feeder has a locking top, you have to push the buttons to open it. Full Cage: My last feeder the cage was on a spring action and would only cover the bottom area when weighted. My little friend chewed a hole in two corners and would empty my feeder. This feeder has a cage that surrounds the whole unit. He is so MAD. He grabs on and shakes it. He spins it around looking for his holes. Spring Action: My last feeder like this one, when weight is put on the cage the holes will be covered denying access. My last feeder, the little bugger bent the leaves so he could get to the holes. This feeder he has been unable to bend the leaves and it seems to be more sensitive to his weight. I was very hesitant to purchase this because of the price. I have checked it out at the hardware store. It seemed sturdy but the price. Then my feeder with the holes and he kept popping off the top. I could have replaced with a newer feeder like what I had and saved a few bucks, but I decided to splurge. I would highly recommend this feeder.
