Absolutely love this lamp! I needed something for my needlework, which uses very small stitches. It's perfect. It also adjusts low enough for my couch. The base is oval and heavy but you have to be sure the light is aligned in the same direction as the oval or it will tip over. Not a deal breaker especially if you are leaving it put, but you have to pay attention if you are moving it around from place to place.
