Classic can crusher! I grew up in the ‘90s with one of these in my parents’ garage. Never understood the use for it until this year when I bought my own house and started recycling. My husband and I drink a lot of canned beverages and they fill up our kitchen recycling bin fast. Lots of trips to the garage to empty that. I bought this and had my husband install it in our pantry since it is kind of an eyesore. I also bought a mini trash bin to put directly beneath it, so we crush our cans and drop them in the can bin until garbage day. Haven’t had to make many extra trips to the garage since buying this. It’s merely a convenience thing, but I’m happy with the results. My husband has also toyed with the idea of making a homemade crucible and melting these little pucks down into ingots. I ordered the 16 oz crusher and it fits all standard soda cans and some of the taller energy drink cans, btw.
