Bass is a bit too high, however, price is hard to beat
----- 1 YEAR REVIEW UPDATE: Failed ----- I have now owned these earbuds for over an entire year. I purchased them in October of 2018 and it is now Halloween in 2019. They have finally given out on me. In the time that I have owned them, I switched from my Galaxy S7 to a OnePlus 7 Pro. One of the major changes between these phones is that the OnePlus is capable of putting out a lot more sound, over the onboard speakers, a USB-C headphone adapter, or over Bluetooth. I paired these to my new phone a while ago and had no trouble with them, but just today I paired them and the volume for the connection defaulted to 100%. I started some music and before I had time to react, the earbuds' lower register instantly blew out. This was never a problem on my S7 because 100% volume was just uncomfortably loud, but not enough to damage the earbuds. After this, the bass in any music being played sounds terribly distorted and crunchy. I'll be purchasing a new pair of truly wireless earbuds, but I'm leaving my review at 4 stars, because this incredibly cheap pair held up for a year and ultimately succame to what really amounted to user error. OnePlus 7 Pro owners beware, 100% volume *will* blow out this pair. -----UPDATE----- I wrote this review around the end of October, when I received them. It is now January 9th. These headphones are still going strong. The comfort issue I mentioned earlier has since faded away, probably due to my ears getting accustomed to the feeling of having them in over the past few months. The battery life is still stellar, and the earbuds will enter a standby mode if no audio is being outputted to them. I've yet to have them die in standby, even while leaving them on for an entire day. Durability wise, after the two and then some months I've owned these, they are still completely intact with no signs of wear. The silicone earpieces can be swapped out and rinsed, making cleaning these fairly easy. I have since stopped using the dual-pair bluetooth feature and the hassle of pairing has almost entirely gone away. Before, I'd often have to cycle bluetooth on and off on my computer and phone to get them to be in the correct state for "dual-pairing", but when I only have them paired to my phone and nothing else the process is ultra quick. I turn them on, and they pair within 3 seconds, as long as my phone is nearby. I also no longer have the quarrels with the sound quality that I had before. I'm no longer using the equalizer feature on my Galaxy S7, and they seem to sound fine for me. Either I simply adjusted to the sound profile of the earbuds over time, or they've "worn in", I distinctly remember the bass being horribly disproportionate at the start, but now it seems just fine. ------Pros------ Pairing was super simple. I was able to quickly get it paired with my phone and desktop as well (using a Bluetooth adapter). Took about 30 seconds. The freedom of wireless earbuds is SO nice! I've always had $10 pairs and after breaking my 5th pair of wired earbuds' cable, I figured "to hell with the cable, I'll just spend a little more on something that is wireless". The behind-the-neck cable connecting the left and right buds isn't very intrusive, and it comes with an on-wire shirt clip so you can attach it to the back of your shirt for even more security. The earbuds themselves seem like they won't fall out. I can shake my head side to side, look down, up, turn my head upside down, and they're still in there quite firmly. The over-the-ear ring to hold them in place is tight enough to grip, but not uncomfortably so, at least for me, anyways. Shipped mostly charged, the company claims a 2 hour charge time and I only had to wait about 5 minutes to top them off after receiving them. This was nice, as I could get to messing with them right away. Google voice assistant activation works within about 2-3 seconds on my Samsung Galaxy S7. You hold down the volume up/volume down buttons simultaneously and it comes up decently quickly. It's certainly not instant, but it's better than nothing. ------Neutral------ Dual pairing feature is actually quite interesting as I've never had any Bluetooth device that can connect to two devices simultaneously. However, it is not true dual-pairing in the sense that you could listen to both devices at the same time. It seems to pick the device depending on whichever one produces audio on first. While my desktop and phone are connected, if I play music on my phone it will immediately play. If I pause the music so it's not making any noise and then pull up a youtube video, it'll switch to my PC after a second or so. If I try and play music on my phone while something is already coming out of my PC, nothing happens. Vice versa, the same thing. You won't have to re-pair every time, but if you were planning on listening to two devices at the same time, it doesn't do this, it simply swaps between them based on which is outputting. Not great, but not really a con either. Pressing the multi-function button (for pause/play & answer/hang up) requires pushing the right earbud into your ear to give some resistance to click the button. This didn't bother me much, but if you have super sensitive ears it might. However, if you have super sensitive ears, earbuds, in general, might not be the best choice for you. ------Cons------ Bass was WAY too high while listening to music on my phone. It could be that I'm used to a pair of earbuds that lacks any bass register, but while listening to the same songs that I normally listen to on my other pairs I felt like I was getting punched in the ear every time there was a kick drum or bass line. It wasn't a clean sounding bass, like you might get from bigger subwoofers, it just sounded like someone cranked the EQ. Some people might like this sound. I don't. I easily corrected it by going to my Galaxy S7's sound settings and turning down the bass lower than normal on the phone's EQ, which brought the sound back to normal. Microphone quality is apparently really not too great according to people I've talked to. I've tried calling two different people on my phone as well as someone on my PC using a VoIP app (Discord, in this case) and all 3 have said I don't sound very good. However, I didn't really buy these for talking. Moreso for listening to music. So this is a passable offense to me. The earbuds are ever so slightly uncomfortable due to the shape of my ears. The silicone piece that goes in your ear is fine, what's bothering me is the plastic bit that the silicone tip attaches to. This round plastic piece is pressing against my ears' antitragus (searching "antitragus external ear" in Google images will show you what I'm talking about). I believe this part of my ear is much more pronounced than the average person, which results in it getting slightly sore after a while. It may just be that my ears are already irritated from using a pair of earbuds that were far more uncomfortable and pressed far more before I received these Bluetooth ones. ------Conclusion------ Overall, these headphones are not too shabby and offer a lot of useful features for the $20 price tag. The bass was messed up, but I was able to fix that in post. The microphone isn't very good at all, but that doesn't concern me for my usage. I am going to use these earbuds for a week or two to see if the comfort issue goes away, and also to see about the earbud's battery life.
