After watching the you tube reviews, I could not wait for Amazon and drove out picked one up at Home Depot. Let me start with a real plus it is covered by a EGO 5 year warranty and 3 years on the battery which is outstanding. No need to buy any extended warranty. I am not sure how many gas mowers have 5 year coverage. Now for performance impressions. This mower cuts the grass like a gas mower Period. So why pay nearly double for it over a gas mower? This electric mower is lightweight (even compared to other lead acid battery electric mowers) so there is no need for self propelled wheels (unless you are mowing a steep bank ~ over 15 degrees, if that is the case you should not buy the EGO); the EGO is exceptionally quiet which well keep your neighbors happy on the weekend, and being electric there is no fussing with gas storage, fuel additives, oil changes or other maintenance items common to gas mower ownership. I also like the idea that it can be folded up and storage upright, taking up a fraction of the space. While some gas mowers can do likewise they tend to be high end models. Of course it has LED headlights for those folks who like to mow their lawns in the evening when it is cooler. So why spend more for this electric mower over the others on the market? Well I owned both cord and cordless mowers, so when I say this mower leaves them in the dark it comes from first hand experience. Lead acid batteries are two to three times the weight of the EGO battery and seem to weaken as the lawn is mowed and over time do not hold their charge, not to mention they take several hours to charge whereas the EGO battery is takes about 30 minutes. The EGO battery holds out until the end without any noticeable loss of performance, about 45 minutes of run time cutting dry grass. Also for me I end up replacing lead acid batteries once every 12 to 18 months at $135. The only drawback to this model is the cut height range, it is designed to cut low to medium height, so if you like to let your grass grow tall you may want to check it out in person first. This is not a problem for me since I like to cut the grass to about 2 to 2.5 inches.
