Note that this brush comes in various diameter metal barrels; be sure to order the correct one for your length hair. The Large size has a metal barrel diameter of 1 3/8", with a diameter including the bristles that is just over 2". The Small size has a metal barrel diameter of 1", with a diameter including the bristles that is 1 3/4". The Extra Small size has a metal barrel diameter of 5/8", with a diameter including the bristles that is 1 1/4". All sizes have a rubber coated handle that is 4" in length and about 7/8" in diameter. The top half of the brush is 4 1/2" long for both the Large and Small sizes, and about 4 1/4" long for the Extra Small size. This top half of the brush includes the actual bristle section and some non-bristle area above and below the bristles. Though, the actual bristle area within the top half of the brush is 3 5/8" long for all sizes. The weight of each size is as follows: Large 4.4 oz, Small 3.35 oz, Extra Small 2.15 oz. I believe they send you whatever random color they pick out. I have a Large in Red, and both the Small and Extra Small in Purple. If you are careful, you will not get this type of brush stuck in your hair. However, it is kind of a "grabby" brush. This is good for me, as I pull the brush straight to the end of my hair, then turn. It needs to be grabby there, otherwise it will just run straight out of my hair. And my hair is relatively straight, but it is pretty thick. (Don't turn the brush near the base of your hair - at the scalp, or else it will get stuck. It may also get stuck if you are trying to use too small of a brush for the length of your hair.)
