I frankly didn't believe the article I read about the best shavers for the buck. I've always been a Norelco/Phillips kind of guy, but I thought that this was definitely worth a try for three tenners. I mean, even if it didn't do a good job, that's just a couple lunches I wasted. Compare that to the two name brands where you try them out for several hundred dollars, and you regret your decision. So, I tried it. I couldn't believe how good this thing works as a day-to-day shaver! It's not perfect, mind you, but it has taught me a lot about how those name brands mark up their product and make us pay through the nose for an expensive shaver, when an inexpensive one works just as good. I mean, for crying out loud, this WHOLE shaver is cheaper than the replacement foil on my two name brand shavers! I still like the feel of a freshly cleaned out shaver (ala Norelco self-cleaning units) better, but not if it's going to cost me a ton of money. I don't enjoy taking off the foil, brushing it out, blowing it clean, etc. But other than that, it's great. My recommendation to you, gentle reader, is to keep this thing fully charged. I originally just charged it every couple of weeks, but I noticed that it does its best work when fully charged. Now I just keep it plugged in almost all the time, and I get a great shave daily.
