I really love this curling iron. Mostly, because it's so ergonomically designed, making it strain-free and comfortable to use. Also, it is light-weight, which I love because my arms, hands and wrists don't get fatigued. This is especially important when you want to curl your entire head of hair. And it does the job -- curls my hair when I wrap it and smooths my bangs when I pull them thru. I would definitely recommend. THE BARREL: The barrel is silky smooth and your hair will glide through it. It makes my hair shiny -- I think because it is so smooth it doesn't snag the hair cuticle. It gets hot fast, which is important to me because I'm always running late. I like the tapered "flattened" tip -- it is textured so you can grip it, yet because it's tapered, I can easily pull the iron out of the curl. HANDLE: At first, I was disconcerted with the long handle, but I discovered it is perfect. It makes the entire iron "well balanced" -- in both weight and design. The handle length makes it easy to reach the back of your hair and hold it there in comfort. The design makes it so it won't slip either out of your hand or towards the hot barrel. BARREL CLAMP: The barrel clamp is tight enough to hold your hair in, but not too tight that it crimps your hair or snags it (causing hair to break). I like to slide my bangs thru it to semi-straighten them, so I don't want a super strong spring. Finally, The plastic end of the clamp where you release it is wide and textured so it's easy to find and use. CORD: The cord is 360 degree swivel and long enough to maneuver the iron around your head.
