Shorts seemed comfortable when trying them on. I ordered 2 sizes larger than normal as recommended by other reviewers. However, after trying them on and inspecting them, I noticed that mine were ripped at the black leg inserts near the outside of my knee on both sides. I never even left the living room after putting these things on! It seems as though the black inserts are made of very cheap quality fabric that basically turns to threads when stretched or ripped. No rip stop material here! Save your money and buy a proven product. That's what I've learned from this. These were delivered today, and will be returned tomorrow. UPDATE - June 10, 2016 Santic was really generous and reached out to me regarding the torn shorts that I received. They wanted to make things right, and try to restore my faith in their product. They sent me a replacement pair of shorts, and I've been on 4 rides now without any issues. The shorts fit comfortably and the padding is sufficient for riding the trails and on the pavement. I haven't had any indications of tearing or fraying on this pair, so I'm hopeful that they'll hold up! I wanted to point out the customer service was very polite and generous to send me another pair of shorts, after I had already been issued a refund. I've updated my rating from 1 star to 4. It's good to know that the company stands behind their product.
