Update: My only complaint with these was that the twist attachments pre-maturely broke and stronger string did not work. However, I found a solution - DENTAL FLOSS. It turns out that dental floss is not only strong enough to last, it is thin and light enough that it does not impede the reflectors from twisting in the breeze. So, I've changed my rating to a 4. The only reason it is not a five is that you have to do the change to dental floss yourself. They should ship these with dental floss or include a note saying "When the string ties break, replace with dental floss." First off, I like these and the birds clearly don't, so that is good. I also use "Irritape" and the combo manages to keep the birds away from my pool, for the most part. Here is the issue: to make these spin properly, they come with and you attach them with a very thin, fine elastic string. Attached with these, they twist there little hearts out - but only for a week or two, then they break and fall. I've tried replacing the supplied string with thicker elastic string from fabric stores and while it does not break, it also does not spin around very well. I wish they either came with tougher string that does not break (and still spins) or that the manufacturer supplied a copious number of replacement string holders so you can at least replace them when they break, and they will break. Especially if you live where you get occasional wind storms.
