We just received and assembled this today. My husband and I put it together in under an hour in the dark on our back deck after the kids were asleep...to address some reviewers comments 1. The instructions were basically a series of photos with few to no words, yes, but they were plenty sufficient. 2. The wood is quite thin and cedar by nature is a very soft wood...it is what it is. 3. All holes on our wooden pieces had pilots drilled appropriately. Some said there weren’t holes. Maybe they fixed this, or past reviewers didn’t look on the right side of the wooden piece... 4. The gap in the middle is avoidable!!! Anyone who got the gap simply put this together incorrectly. To avoid the gap: Instead of justifying the assembled folding platforms to the outer edges of either side (ie: pulling them outward), you instead push them INward so that the meet flush in the middle and eliminate the gap. Be sure to check both sides to ensue evenness before drilling into place. Aside from the points above, the only other concern left to address is how this thing stands up to the test of my three toddlers...I’m only expecting 2 or 3 seasons out of it at best. We aren’t going to paint or seal it...just let it be and see what happens! I’m holding the last star off until I can judge the durability of this thing. If it falls apart in a week I’ll be back to update. If no update, it means the sandbox has withstood use reasonably.
