I highly recommend this keyboard
I highly recommend this keyboard. I waited to use it until I received my origami case with my new Fire, so I have only been using it a few days, but I have used it a lot and have formed an opinion about it. First, the cons" That is the first one. The colon is in the wrong place and I see that I use that a lot. Second, the top left number keys are shifted to the left by 1 and it takes a mental reset to find them when you want to use them. Most importantly a problem when your passwords and logins involve numbers. Finally, the on off key is recessed enough that the pressure required to turn it off seems to be a bit more than I am used to using. I have to assume that is because the manufacturer expected you to really leave it on all the time and not turn it off. It definitely puts itself to sleep easily and wakes up fast. I am just expecting that the battery usage would be accelerated if I don't turn it off, so I do. All of the cons I didn't have to do too much to compensate for, so I still like the keyboard and am willing to recommend it. It fits wonderfully in the origami case, although you can't use it in the case. It is out and loose to be used. Again, I can deal with that. It is heavier than other bluetooth keyboards I have got--and I've got more than a couple. However here are the Pros" (ha ha) it is well made and the keys have really nice action. You might take a small learning curve on using it because it has a lighter touch than the last bluetooth keyboard I had been using, where I had noticed I was tapping hard enough to make my fingers ache after using it for a while. So, you might get some duplicate letters until you totally compensate for that. But, the action is great, really nice. Also, it is a quieter keyboard than the other ones I have used. That is nice when you are in a public situation and you don't enjoy drawing as much attention to yourself as I had been previously. It has a real feeling of solidity to it, which is why Amazon must have been willing to put their name on it and it connects instantly to my Fire, which is the best I have ever had happen. The only complaints that I am willing to concede are really with the Origami case (which I am not reviewing here) and that is when you slide up the Fire to take a picture, you need to be careful that it doesn't fall out of the case. However, I am willing to be careful and the end result is that my Fire case and keyboard is easily an inch thinner than the previous case and keyboard that I used which was heavily padded and the keyboard main component I think was cardboard. So, finally--you have to adjust your mind to compensate for small differences and get used to the keyboard (but I have had to do that on all my keyboards) and after you do that, this is a great--simply great--keyboard. Highly recommend.
