Wow! Wow! Wow!
I just finished planting 90 daffodil bulbs in clay soil in about 90 minutes. But the real point isn't the length of time it took but the effort required. Short version: not much. It was quite a pleasant 90 minutes, if you can imagine that. And I should add that I'm a 60+-year-old woman on the small side. Just amazing.
Ladies, if you give this a try, be sure to have a good grip on your drill. If you hit a rock or some other obstacle, the drill will spiral hard and wrench your wrist. But that's just what happens when using a drill, not a criticism of the bulb auger.
Last spring, in a triumph of fantasy over reality, I ordered 400 bulbs. It wasn't long before I regretted the order, thinking I'd never be able to get the bulbs planted. But this product is making that fantasy come true. Three-hundred more bulbs to go -- most of them shallow plantings, like crocus -- and I'm actually looking forward to it. This is the ONLY way to plant bulbs.
