This is my first purchase of a Northbooks notebook. It will not be my last. I am using this in my traveler's style notebook. The first thing I did was turn to the back pages and test several of my varied writing and drawing tools. See my photo. The paper in the Northbooks performed beautifully! Only one bleed through. The paper is smooth and did not create any drag on my pens. I have yet to try out my watercolors on the pages. I will give an update when I do. UPDATE June 23, 2017: I apologize for not updating sooner. I love them for watercolors as well if you love that crinkly paper feel when they dry. The paper holds us very well. You will not get the same results as you would on hot or cold press paper but this is journaling not an art exhibit.
