First things first - this device will not give you CD-perfect audio. You're going to get some fuzz here and there. Having said that, this is easily the easiest, smartest way I have seen yet for bridging the gap in technology for cars made before AUX inputs were commonplace and today's modern smartphones with or without headphone jacks. Anker very cleverly took the latest in FM transmitter technology, Bluetooth connectivity, and its awesome USB charging product, and built all three into a single unit that plugs directly into a 12v socket. It could not be easier. Plug it in. Power it on. Connect to your phone's Bluetooth (and they've made this so simple). That's maybe two minutes' worth of work there. The next part is a little trickier, because you have to find an empty frequency on your car's FM stereo (white noise, no station), and then tune the Roav SmartCharge to broadcast to that same frequency, but once you find a suitable one, you're done. Just add it as a radio preset and you can tune to it anytime you want to use the SmartCharge to play music. I also compared it to an older Bluetooth gateway that doesn't have the FM transmitter capability or the built-in USB ports, and the SmartCharge sounded better and didn't need the stereo to be cranked up as much as the older BT device. I like that there are two USB ports supplied so that you can charge two devices at once. I also like that it does have a headphone jack output so if your car has an AUX input jack, you can run a cord from the SmartCharge to the AUX jack, which means the SmartCharge is still going to act as a Bluetooth receiver, but it doesn't have to broadcast over FM. The SmartCharge is just a nifty device that covers a bunch of bases in terms of car charging and audio and it blows my mind that it's as inexpensively priced and nicely made as it is.
