Good but not great.. this will be long!
Okay, first thing i'll say is don't rush to judge this cleaner. Give it a few days to see what it actually does because quite honestly I was not impressed at all with what I was seeing at first and almost sent it back. It's easy to get it going out of the box. Once going here is what I have noticed:
WEIGHT - This was a big deciding factor for my wife who is small and was afraid she couldn't lift it. That's not a problem as it is light however that comes with another problem. There are times the tracks (wheels) just spin or the cleaner slides down the slopes of the pool. I am trying to figure out a way to add some weight to give it more traction.
CLEVERCLEAN TECHNOLOGY - No & yes. The cleaner goes over the same spot multiple times and, because of how it will occasionally slide down the slopes and not get traction, I don't see how it could have any kind of smart navigation unless it has a GPS installed. That being said, it does eventually clean the whole pool although it might take two cycles. It does get hung up on our ladder but it eventually gets itself off. It also has a problem going over the drain if it is going backwards. As long as the brush goes first it will go over the drain easily.
ANTI-TANGLE TECHNOLOGY - Um, no. First day it was twisted about 3 times. You generally have to take it out every other day or so to clean so that's when you untangle. Not a huge deal but wish this had a $10 swivel mechanism.
CONTROL UNIT - The ONLY feature that is included on the Nautilus CC is the option to select it to repeat every day, every 2 days or every 3 days. Another thing that is not stated where I could see in the specs or description online that you have to re-select the repeat option every week so don't think you can set it to repeat every 2 days and you're good.
POWER CABLE - The specs state the unit is ideal for pools up to 30 feet and I would partially agree. I had read other reviews that said it did well for their pools larger than that. I have a 36 foot pool with an 8 foot deep end and a plug about 10 feet from the end of the pool however I noticed it wasn't going all the way to the bottom of the far deep end or to the top of the wall on the deep end. The cable was stretched. I luckily have another plug around the middle of the pool which now makes it so I have more than enough cable. I measured the power cable to be about 45 feet but account for how far away you have to put the control box from the pool.
EASY CLEAN - Probably one of the best things about this cleaner. The bottom hinges open at the touch of a button and then just spray it with a hose. You can also remove two of the side panels if needed to make cleaning even easier. Very happy with this part of the unit.
POOL CLEANING - We haven't hit the bad part of summer yet but it seems like it cleans pretty well. You'll notice it does throw up some debris occasionally when it rolls over it but it also seems as though it eventually picks it up later because once it stops the pool is clean with a few small rare exceptions.
SIDES AND STEPS - It climbs the walls well but not everytime. It does spend about 3 or 4 seconds scrubbing the waterline so that is another very positive thing. It also climbs up our first step but that's about it. It can't move down the step so just falls back off.
I hope this helps others in trying to answer some questions I had and in making their decision. This is my first robotic cleaner and don't know why they cost so much but I guess it's because we pay it. I just hope it lasts!
