I live in an area with very hard water, and about 10 or so years ago, they also began adding fluoride to the water. I have a hypersensitivity to fluoride and always have to be careful not to get toothpaste around my mouth, and over the past 10 years, taking a shower has started to pretty much hurt. I got a Sprite filter from Home Depot and was told at the time that there were no filters that could remove fluoride for just the shower, and would have to get an expensive reverse osmosis filter for the house. I live in an apartment, so that was not an option. I've used the Sprite filter for at least 7 years, and would get replacement filters, but my skin would always be super sensitive, and prone to break out. It is supposedly only able to filter out chlorine and other impurities. I then saw this filter claimed it removed fluoride. I did a lot of research on the ingredients in the various filters claiming it could do that, and this one seemed like it might actually be able to, so bought it. I didn't put the water through a chemical analysis test because I am not a scientist, but what I can say, is my skin is super soft, not red, not hypersensitive, and my hair is super shiny. I do not recall this happening with the Sprite filter, so I am very happy with my purchase. Very easy to install, same as the Sprite one, just follow the instructions that come with it. And I love that they provide a replacement filter also. I also just can't believe how shiny and bouncy my hair is. I mostly wanted a filter that could filter out fluoride, so my skin wasn't so sensitive, but this was an added bonus. Highly recommend this filter. You will notice a world of difference after just one shower.
