Exceptional!
With a combination of carpet and ceramic tile floors an upright just doesn't hack it all the time. This is the first non-upright we have owned in a long time. The last was a monster that was a real pain till we just gave up. This vacuum is very compact, light weight with ample attachments for any use. It comes with an upholstery brush, a crevice tool, a hard floor head along with a carpet head with rotating brushes. One big advantage this has over an upright is in the articulating wand, it goes almost flat against the floor, allowing easy peazy cleaning under the bed and other close to the floor furniture. The suction is superior! I did notice that on carpet it is a tad hard to push the head back and forth because of the suction strength---I find that to be a good thing.
Emptying the canister is rather straight forward and simple, and it will pick up more that I would imagine, doing a great job on both carpet and the hard surface floors. Another great feature is the self retracting cord, just one push of the button and away it goes! The footprint is rather small compared to other units I have seen, allowing for easy storage. A handle at the user end of the wand is very comfortable during use. This is a well made sturdy unit, the wand is solid, easy to extend and retract. It would be hard to expect more from a vacuum than this! Extremely pleased, I would recommend the Bissell Hard Floor Expert to anyone!
NOTE: In my review I noted that it was a tad difficult to push the head on the carpet. There was a reason, I was using the rotating brush head----that was designed for use on the bare floors not carpet. I replaced with the correct head and the thing pushes smooth as silk-----oh, dumb me!
