Unlike others that provide a 5-star rating for a free or discounted product, I am proving my rating based on truth and use. A retired military Vietnam veteran with a right knee replaced twice. Because of surgery issues it will never be better than 60-70% with daily exercise. Since June of 2011, I have had to wear a knee brace, in addition to the knee replacement surgery, to control the pain and mobility issues. All my prior braces were medically provided however, now Uncle Sam does not pay for medical support braces (another benefit gone). So I told the doctor I'll go to Amazon for my brace based on real users and not an Orthopedic retail process. Hence this brace purchase. It was equally priced to my doctors office item but better and here is why. Note all my photos, to include the repaired knee, the brace in use and the packaging. First, note this brace is shorter. I thought this would be an issue but it actually is better. The support is thicker and firm which is ideal for replaced knees. Although the brace is shorter 3-4 inches in length, it actually wears very comfortably. My knee doesn't sweat anymore than prior braces; in fact because it is shorter the leg area stays cooler above and below the knee. My daily activities include dog walking for my son twice daily equal in one hour of street walking. I also go to the gym daily so for 40 minutes it is in use as I workout with various Nautilus exercise machines. Then, I do 40-60 minutes of cardio on the treadmill. Plus any daily store or walking activities. This is my everyday routine so my knee brace is more than important. Today, was the first day of wearing this new brace. I did all that and more and actually forgot I had the brace on. It was extremely comfortable. Support to my knee was outstanding. It didn't slip or ride up or down. And, I actually think, for me it was exactly what I needed for my less than normal knee. This was my first day so I have no idea what 30 days of my daily routine will provide but I will update accordingly. It took me a long time to make a decision on what brace may work. And, to sort through vendors that give products for great reviews. Folks like me, with surgically replaced knees, we need honest reviews. Our comfort depends on it. This was my purchase and truthful review. Hopefully, others will benefit. BTW, I am 65 for those older folks wondering if this will work. I think you will be surprised as to how well it does support. Update: 11 July 2016: I have used this knee brace everyday since I received it. Twelve hours a day seven days a week including the gym six days a week and everyday activity. It works great! still extremely supportive. And it is still in excellent condition even though every day I remove it and keep it inside out to dry and air. For germ protection I do spray it daily with a germ spray (Lysol type product). In the past I have found that washing them is OK, however do not put in the dryer. I still think this is the best knee brace I have found and that includes three orthopedic offices and some super stores.
