[Updated] Works great but...Mold?
[September 24, 2020] It turns out that you need to clean the filter on a semi-regular basis. After cleaning the filter regularly for several weeks, the dirt and grime was removed from the water lines. This unit still performs as new and is used approx 250-300 days per annum. Occasionally, an oscillating noise that kind of sounds like splashing water is emitted. Super annoying. Again, cleaning the filter of grime that builds up takes care of the problem. The design of the water cooler and fan collects a significant amount of the particles floating in air. Ultimately, this is good for your health and the cleanliness of your home. Buy with confidence. [Original Review] If you prefer to sleep on a sheet of ice, than this is perfect for you. As others have mentioned, you can add blankets or some other insulating material between the pad and your skin to regulated the effectiveness. I'm quite satisfied. However, what's this buildup in the water lines? I've used this product every night about 2.5 months now. I've only used is at f3-f4 and refill it with filtered water every evening. I don't see how such a significant quantity of mold could grow in such a short period of time. If it's not mold, what is it? I imagine this will clog the lines and pad reservoirs soon if I don't clean it out. So now my greatest concern is how much of my time will be required to maintain this product. I will need to remove the lines (which is actually not easy) from the machine, hopefully not spill the water, drain the tank, remove the lines from the mattress and pad, figure out a way to flush the lines, pad, and cooler, reassemble everything, then clean and disinfect the flushing area (likely my bath tub); on a regular basis. Has anyone else had this problem? Hopefully there's an easier solution? I love frigid out of the pad so much that I'm consider the constant hassle of time consuming maintenance.
