Cost effective, efficient, easy to use - perfect for large consumer projects
Before the Graco, I used to use a Wagner power roller because of all the poor reviews of consumer grade airless sprayers. After I acquired a 2100 square foot property that needed sorely needed painting from ceiling to wall, I reconsidered airless sprayers and gave the Graco a whirl. Here is what I found.
* To get immediately comfortable (and productive) with the sprayer, watch the included DVD several times. Some good stuff regarding technique and cleanup.
* It takes *very* little time to actually paint a standard room with the Graco. The time you must invest is in masking the areas that you do not want either painted or 'dusted' (atomized paint will drift and settle out on nearby surfaces - fairly easy to address but why not save the effort by throwing a sheet or tarp in place before spraying).
* After you have performed the process to prime the pump, spray the paint (and occasionally clear the spray tip) a couple of times, you will find that the setup and preparation to spray to be straight forward and with little worry. I was originally worried about how involved cleanup would be and I was very impressed that the cleanup process did not waste paint and could be completed within 20 minutes or so. Compare this with the power rollers which waste a lot of paint and take forever to clean the roller.
No regrets
