I'll be honest, I was skeptical of this being so cheap. I decided to try it anyways because of the other reviews here. When I first turned it on, I was nervous because this thing doesn't make more noise than a toy car. I thought "there's no way this thing will suck up anything based on how quiet the motor is running.." but I let it charge up and then used it for real on my hardwood floors and very flat area rug. It did a great job! I tried it on my stairs, which is a normal thickness carpet, and it did work, but I could tell it was sucking off the surface dust and not much else just because the carpet is so thick. I didn't purchase it to be a vacuum vacuum for my thick carpet. I purchased it for my hard floor. I am not disappointed by any means! It is so quick to push around and so much easier and more fun than sweeping for me.
