I purchased this vacuum to clean a few rugs I have at home for better cleaning. All our floors are ceramic tiled and laminated, so I need it for small tasks. I vacummed this carpet on the picture that I sweep daily, and it suctioned a lot of dirt from it. I gave my 2 dogs a hair cut, after sweeping their hair I used this vacuum for the left over hair, and it suctioned it all. It also has a spinning roll and you can turn it off / on according to the kind of floor you are cleaning. Over all, I think its good for small areas.
