Look, Amazon has a knack of having products with price jumps on an almost daily basis. So my advice is to buy this when it goes below $16. When it's in the $14 range, it's even better, but $16 is my cut off because at that price, it beats anything Walmart or Costco offers. Don't compare it to the really flimsy or Lilliputian cheapo plasticware that you can get in any dollar store. You know the type. The ones that are tiny and snap in two if you stick them in anything sturdier than jello. These are the exact opposite. They feel good in the hands, are sturdy enough to use with almost any food item without fear of breaking, and strong enough to wash and reuse if that's what you want. Also (and this is important to me) they didn't react with food. Sometimes, even the sturdy plasticware like Dixie Ultra, will react with certain food items. I noticed it most when eating anything with a hot tomato sauce (lasagna, spaghetti and meatballs etc). After everything that came out about BPA, I stay away from plastic products which shows a noticeable appearance/texture change when applied to heat or acidic foods. So far, I haven't noticed the AmazonBasics brand reacting to anything so that alone is an improvement in my book.
