First I want to thank all the people who took the time to write reviews of items they have purchased on Amazon. I read those reviews before making a purchase and this information has very helpful to me. I bought the 36" by 48" Marvelux chair mat in January of 2018. I use the mat in our den with an office chair on wheels. The mat sits on a new oriental rug which has a medium nap. When I first got the mat it would not stay in one place. As the chair rolled on the mat it would slide on the rug despite the little plastic "teeth" underneath. My wife and I were constantly picking the mat up and putting it where we wanted it. So being a family handyman I measured the space between the little teeth on the bottom of the mat and then went back on Amazon and ordered a 1" wide transparent double sided carpet tape. Then I turned the mat upside down and put tape down on all four sides between the first two rows of teeth. Carefully my wife and I lifted the pat and put it down where we wanted it. I then walked on it to make sure of a good contact. Sometimes you guess right. No more sliding around. As the mat is transparent you can see our new rug but not the tape. The mat gets a lot of use and so far we are very pleased with our purchase. I hope this helps somebody out there.
