Binoculars too good to be true....But they are. Wish I got these first!
I searched and searched trying to find a good pair of binoculars for me for Christmas and did not buy this pair because I figured there was no way a pair this inexpensive could be “good.” So I bought a more expensive one and tried to force myself to like it, but could not “see” through it without black blocks showing up unless I pulled the binoculars away from my eyes to view things. I finally gave up and returned it, looked all through the binoculars I saved in my pre-Christmas search and tried this.
I was concerned that the “IPD” was the problem with the last pair, but this one measured a max of 74 mm also, like the ones I got at Christmas, so I thought it was possible this pair would do the same thing. My eyes are widely spaced.
I have had no problems using other binoculars in the past. I tried out some $300 binoculars locally and although the image was understandably good, I figured I would try out a well-reviewed much less expensive pair and hope that the $300 ones were not really “$260 better.”
Well that was this one and it is awesome.
It is clear and the image bright. They don't fog up. Most of all, I can see through them and don't even have them at the maximum limit on width. And my wife can bring them in and see with them too.
I tried looking from Mount Figuero near Santa Maria California and looking in the distance where it "appeared" I could see over the coastal mountains in the distance, 9 miles away (I checked later) and I actually did see the Pacific!
I tried to hold the binoculars up to my iPhone 12 Pro Max and got a decent shot, with great difficulty, but will try again when I get the expected camera mount.
I "won" a scratch off that came with the package and included a small table top tripod, a remote phone camera shutter, a binocular phone adapter, and I think a Tripod mount adapter. Note I have not received this yet, so we will see. It's been a week since they said they would ship it, but even so that is icing on the cake. This pair of binoculars really works! And for under $40! I still can't believe it.
I am not saying this pair is as good as the $300 and $400 Leopold I believe they were called locally. But they are NOT $260 or $360 less quality. Nowhere near. And they are actually much better than a $100-$150 cheaper model Leopold that was there.
I am really pleasantly surprised at the quality images, the smooth, quick focus function of the overall focus knob (you use for the left eye) and the diopter you use for the right eye, and how the focus then holds for both eyes for me, unless I take it to one extreme or the other. Like I look at the moon (incredible) and then try to look at a bird 20' away. That won't work. But it doesn't take long at all, seconds, to adjust.
The weight is really nice, too. Not too heavy.
And I saw no one state anywhere if these included a strap for the binoculars or the case. The ones I first got had it for the binoculars, forcing me to stuff the case in my back pants and drop it often. These actually had a strap for BOTH! And the one for the binoculars is really nice. Especially for an under $40 pair.
Hats off to this company!
And each time I contacted the company with questions BEFORE the sale, they responded in a day. Really nice.
I may buy their smaller, compact pair next.
