Since it comes from China I cannot eat it. If you want to see this product, and many others, in action, there is a youtube channel called "az stuff" that emphasizes suet recipes for birds using seed, peanut butter, worms, feeders, molds, and other products I get from amazon. Since I can't link the videos directly, I can only mention the channel name. Having said that, I am extremely pleased with these. I am able to quickly make a large amount of heat-tolerant suet cakes that fit various hanging feeders. In AZ this summer, temps hit 106-108F and the suet cakes never melted. I can fit two side-by-side in each feeder, and this attracts about 18 different species of birds in my neighborhood.
