From a professional standpoint....
Ok, so by professional I mean that this is the first time I've ever even attempted tinting. But now I'm ready to take on the world. Probably a false sense of confidence, but it was THAT easy. Tools I put in the picture are a MUST. One of my pictures may be sideways...I dont know why. Here's the lowdown: 1. Price out having a professional do it first. Then you'll roll your eyes at the other peoples reviews. My project was $40. Hiring someone to do it would have been about $150 or more. People need to lay off the negative reviews on a $20 item that would be quadruple in price if hired out. Duh. 2. Measure first and add at least an inch / inch and a half on each side, and I'd suggest two on the length. It's easier to trim afterwards than get a dead on cut. 3. Clean that window. Then clean it again. If you have an animal in the house, take the animal out of the house at least two years before starting because this stuff is a hair magnet! 4. Once you cut it, dont forget that the paper is dirty and going to touch your window where you're about to stick this stuff. So roll all that sucker out and make sure the paper is wiped off first. My first one has dust on it because it took one time to learn that. You're welcome. 5. Dont waste your money on their adhesive product. I had windex and was not about to go to the store for baby shampoo. It worked fine. 6. KEEP IT WET. Both sides. Start at the top, roll the paper half way down, eyeball that sucker straight and then squeegie it in. Once you are sure it's straight and you have overlap on both sides, go ahead and roll all the paper off and stick it on. MAKE SURE THE WINDOW IS WET!!! Then use the little squeegie thing but make sure the outside is wet or you WILL tear the tint. 7. Once you have it pretty decently in place take your squeegie and razor blade and hold the squeegie tight in the corner and run the razor down with it. Dont pull or it'll tear. Gentle, like it's your first date. 8. Save this project when you're stressed. It's actually very satisfying and calming. It was for me anyway! Good luck!
