I get pretty hot at night, and setting the AC for 64 F is expensive. The Chilipad has been the darling of biohackers lately; so I finally broke down and gave it a shot. I bought the Twin XL because we have a standard king bed, but my wife didn't want it on her side (Twin XL is exactly half of a standard king). The pros: - super easy to set up.One person can set it up in 5-10 min - keeps you cool. (I haven't tried the heating, and probably never will). - it's comfortable. I really don't feel the tubes under me unless I feel for them. Cons - The fans are pretty loud. Might a tad less loud than a cheap box fan. I hope the 3.0 will reengineer the fans to be quieter. - It ain't cheap - ya gotta maintain it. Every 2-3 weeks you need to top off the distilled water in the reservoir. Not a big deal, but it's another task. Over all, I am very pleased with it. I don't get too hot anymore, which is exactly what I wanted out of the Chilipad.
