So this is not like their thicker throw, warms up just the same, but it is lighter weight, which I actually like and am using on top of my bed this fall instead of as a throw. Just like all of the others they sell, they have the 3 settings, but what I love about Sunbeam is they have a 3 hour shut off timer so I can use it when I go to bed and not have to worry about turning it off. Simple to use, light weight, great for a gift, or someone with chronic pain like me, this is why I love these, they help calm my nerves by warming my body ~ great for someone with nephropathy or Fibromyalgia or any central nervous system disorder that affects the whole body. Again it is VERY light weight, but definitely warm enough even on the low setting. You don't get a choice on the color, but the one I got was a Royal Blue check (purpley blue with black check, solid blue on other side).
