The Purrr-Fect Scoop is solid and well built. The handle is attached with a heavy duty screw going fully through the plastic coated metal handle so no worries about it coming loose and the scoop is made of heavy duty, thick plastic. As for the scoop size it's 4.5" wide and about 5" deep so plenty big for scooping the litter box, in fact it's bigger than the scoop which came with my Litter Genie, so I was happy about that. The handle is a good length so it makes cleaning the litter box much easier. The one thing that lets this scoop down, and the reason I took one star off, are the slots in the scoop, they're way too wide so all the small bits or flattened bits of dirty litter fall through. I measured the width of the slots, the front slots are smaller and measure 2/8" wide and the back slots which are larger measured 3/8" in width. But I 'fixed' this by cutting out a piece of 1/4x1/4 inch, 23 gauge wire mesh and attaching it inside the scoop face, with a few pieces of wire tied through the mesh and around the slots in the scoop. Now it really is Purrr-fect!
