Great tool, easy to use, save me a lot of money…
I’m a DIY guy and I love to work in mechanic. Most of the cars, specially from 2000 on, if you don’t have a scanner, so you can talk with your car’s computer, you’ll be flying blind and probably spend a lot of money on parts that you don’t need because the problem is somewhere else.
This tool was recommended to me by a friend who’s a professional mechanic; when I saw the price, it looked weird, but, what the hell, I give it a try. I got to say, this is EXCELLENT.
Now, this is only the tool, it doesn’t come with any program, you need to buy one, keep that in mind when you buy this. I did some research on different programs and end up buying: TORQUE. I bought it in Google Store, it cost me about $5 (very cheap) and the app is very friendly and easy to use. Besides reading the diagnosis from your computer it also has a lot of other features you can use with the diagnostic tool connected to the car, so you can monitor your car will driving it.
So, far I’ve been able to check errors on my car, my wife’s SUV, and other family members. I’ve use it probably 15 – 20 times in different cars and it shows the problem, sensor X, Y,Z or any other issue. It has helped me a lot plus saved me a lot of money. Most of the time if you go to a professional mechanic and they scan your car, they charge between $75 to $100 or more, it all depends.
